The spring price hikes are starting. i just heard that siding is going up 4-7%.
Lumber and windows will be soon.
We’d like to hear that the lowering of gas prices would lower the supply prices but that just isn’t going to happen. They might hold but not go down in price.
So IF you are thinking of doing a addition or renovation do it now. The prices will not be less in a year.
I feel bad for people who put their project off and then are surprised when the quote is no longer valid and the price has gone up. But we have no control over the prices of the hard goods. Wish we did. We do a detailed estimate and can show you exactly how much the lumber, windows, siding, roof shingles, insulation, masonry etc cost. We show how much each phase costs. We can help you trim the budget but in some cases the price just is what it is. There are different grades of products like roofing shingles. But cheaper isn’t always a money saver. It doesn’t save you money if you have to replace it in 5 years. But you don’t always have to go for the most expensive option either. Sometimes it’s just a design choice. It’s not a bad thing to look at the expensive magazines & websites and to make a dream wish list of things you would love to have. But at some point you need to be realistic and make the hard choices in what you MUST have and what you WANT to have vs what you CAN afford. With a bit of research and soul searching you can find what will make you end up loving your new space.
Pavolony Construction would like to help you make that dream come true without it turning into a nightmare.
